Athletics Honors 87 Student-Athletes with Letter Jackets (12-8-08)

Georgetown College Director of Athletics Eric Ward awarded 87 letter jackets to the 2007 Letterman Class in the annual ceremony held Sunday, December 7 at Alumni Gymnasium.

Student-athletes were given jackets for earning their first varsity letter in athletics at the school.  The criteria for being a letterwinner is determined by each sport's coaching staff.

Georgetown's Collins Hits a Hole-in-One (5-1-08)

Georgetown College freshman golfer Jessica Collins hit a hole-in-one during the practice round of the Mid-South Conference/Region XI Championships on Wednesday, April 30.  The championships are being held at the Maywood Golf Course in Bardstown, Ky. and the ace occurred on the par three, 145-yard eighth hole.  Collins used a seven iron in the solo shot.  The tournament will be held May 1-2, with the winner advancing to the NAIA National Championships in San Diego, Ca.

 

 

 

 

Student-Athlete Athletics Council Awards Annual GC's on Sunday (4-28-08)

The Georgetown College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) hosted the third-annual GC Awards on Sunday, April 27th in the Georgetown College Chapel. Former Tiger and current WKYT-TV chief meteorologist T.G. Shuck served as master of ceremonies and gave student-athletes an idea of how much they will appreciate the foundation that athletics helps to form in their lives when they are in their chosen careers.

Shown left: Juniors Jason Frilling (baseball) and Katie Filiatreau (basketball) were named Mr. and Ms. Georgetown for their leadership and accomplishments in the classroom and in their sport and are congratulated by Director of Athletics Eric Ward.
