Rain Spoils Date at Applebee's Park (4-3-08)

The Georgetown College-Eastern Kentucky University Baseball game scheduled for Thursday evening at Applebee's Park in Lexington has been canceled due to rain.

Tiger Baseball to Play at Applebee's Park on Thursday (4-1-08)

The Georgetown College Baseball team will get a rare opportunity to play in a minor league park as the Tigers will take on Eastern Kentucky University at Applebee's Park, home of the Lexington Legends on Thursday.  The first pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. and admission is free.

The game location comes as part of an agreement between EKU and the Lexington Legends to host an outing at Applebee’s Park in Lexington. The two teams will also play the day before (April 2) at 3:00 p.m. at Turkey Hughes Field in Richmond.

The in-state rivalry between Eastern Kentucky and Georgetown began in 1985, with the Colonels leading the all-time series between the two schools 5-1.  Last year, the Tigers were able to surprise the Colonels and walk away with an 8-2 win.
