Tigers Continue Perfect Season with 79-73 Win at Huntington (1-9-08)

Georgetown College's perfect record was tested at Huntington University as the Tigers were outscored in the second half 43-42 but were able to hang on to win 79-73 at the 25th-
ranked NAIA Division II school.

Huntington lost leading scorer Doug Sheckler, a senior forward averaging 17.4 ppg, early in the first half to an arm injury.

Georgetown moved to 15-0 on the year while the Forresters dropped to 12-6.

"We just didn't do the things we practiced but had a lot of good things going early - they are the best team in the NAIA right now and it makes us better...but it took its toll tonight," said Huntington Head Coach Steve Platt.

Gus Chase scored 21 points for the Tigers who remain ranked #2 in the NAIA Division I Coaches' Poll released earlier on Wednesday. Kyle Saxton finished with 20 points.

Next up for Georgetown is a matchup with the University of St. Francis (IL) on Saturday at home.
